10 things you don't know about me! #Blogtober22

I am taking part in Blogtober 2022 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October. Today's prompt is: 10 things you don't know about me!

Me with pink hair

Happy 1st of October and 1st day of Blogtober. Today's prompt is 10 things you don't know about me which I had to think long and hard about. I have been blogging for almost 10 years so I feel regular readers will know most things about me. There is also my About Us page where you can get an idea of who I am and who my family is. I need to update it again as the girls are a year older now. lol I think over these almost 10 years of blogging I have told all my secrets so for my 10 things I will have to come up with some really random things.

1. I have lived in 13 different homes. Mostly all in the North East of England including Stockton, Thornaby, Redcar, Durham, Spennymoor and Ashington. I think we are in our forever home now living near Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire.

2. I am obsessed with mint humbugs at the moment and probably eat far too many.

3. I am so bad at texting people back. I read the message, end up doing something else and then forget all about it.

4. I only own 3 pairs of footwear. Smart black boots, a pair of trainers and some welly boots.

5. My natural hair colour is dark brown with plenty of grey hairs coming through not that you see it though. I dye my hair and have been all different colours over the last few years. I first dyed it bright red in 2019 and I haven't looked back. I've been pink, red, blue, green which was a mess up, purple and a mix of all those colours. At the moment my hair is blue but by the end of the month it might have changed, who knows.

6. I am watching Orange Is the New Black for the first time and I am loving it. Crazy Eyes and Red are my favourite characters but I am warming to Pennsatucky now.

7. I swear far too much. Never on my blog or in front of my dad though.

8. I hate paying for anything with my bank card. I get flustered and never know where to scan it. I will only use my bank card when I really. really have to.

9. My full name is not Kimberly, it's just Kim. My parents thought they were clever just giving my brother and I names with 3 letters in thinking nobody can shorten them, the problem we have is people try to lengthen my brothers and my name.

10. I only know popular music, in the charts if it is played on TikTok. I never listen to the radio anymore unless it's old music from the 80's and 90's. I feel old.

What is one thing that I don't know about you?

  1. I didn't know your name wasn't shortened, I've picked names for my kids that I don't mind the shortened versions of because it always happens..although one of them often gets called Loo! I like that you don't swear in front of your Dad, I never swore in front of my Mum but my kid's don't care at all. xx

  2. I'm with you on the swearing although in the end I did swear (not too bad) in front of my mum. N swears at home and I hate it, but the OH wont back me up in stopping it.

  5. I enjoyed getting to know you more. I do use my card to pay for things but I know exactly what you mean by getting flustered when you don’t know where to swipe or tap. I always feel like a goose when the shop assistant has to show me. It’s even worse when I have completely messed up and they’ve had to redo the whole transaction. Very embarrassing especially when people behind me are waiting.

  6. I'm not really a swearer. I would never swear in front of my mum or dad even if I were a swearer, I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

  7. Hi Kim, lovely to connect again. I think my natural hair colour is mousey brown, but I've been dying it since I was 18.

  8. So interesting. I love your Hellfire Club t-shirt by the way! I love your bright hair- it always looks great. I'm the same, I swear a lot too but won't in front of my mum. My kids slip swear words in front of me and I always say "I wouldn't dare swear in front of my parents when I was your age!" Ha! I'm awful with my card too! In the days when you had to sign, I was refused as they said my signature didn't match- oops! Then with pin -I reverse numbers and get it wrong and now with contactless they've changed where you scan it- just to confuse me! The kids usually pay for me! xx

  9. I enjoyed reading this post. Your blog is one of my favourites. I'm coming up to ten years of blogging too. We must have started around the same time :)
