The best TV shows to watch in October. #Blogtober22

I am taking part in Blogtober 2022 and will be writing posts with various themes/prompts throughout October. Today's prompt is: Best books to read in October but as I am not a big reader I am going to go with the best TV shows to watch in October.

TV remote

I love what's on TV at this time of year. There is of course home comforts like Great British Bake Off and Strictly. The soaps always have a big week of episodes in October and there is all the returning TV shows coming. Now seems the right time to watch quite a few shows which new seasons coming over the next few months.

The Walking Dead.

If you have been putting off watching the Walking Dead watch it now! The new and last season starts tonight in America. I only started watching it when the 3rd series was running and I've been hooked every since. I rewatched it a few months ago just so I was all up to date for the new series!

The hit series follows a group of survivors struggling to survive after a zombie apocalypse. As the world overrun by the dead takes its toll, their interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their survival than the walkers that roam the country.

The Crown!

Netflix has revealed the premiere date for the new season of The Crown. November the 9th! So if you haven't seen it, now is a great time to catch up.

Based on historical events, this series dramatizes the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that have shaped her reign. It really is a fantastic show. I saw that there was a warning put out on Twitter reminding people that it is a drama show not a documentary. lol Season 5 sees another set of cast changes as the focus shifts onto arguably the most turbulent decade of the Queen's long reign, the 1990s.

Emily in Paris.

The third season of Emily in Paris Coming to Netflix on  December 21st so now is a great time to catch up with the previous seasons. I love it. It's so easy to watch with around ten 30 minute episodes per season. It's funny and is pretty light hearted.

Emily in Paris follows Emily Cooper, a college graduate American with a Master's degree in marketing in her late twenties from Chicago, who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity. She is tasked with bringing an American point of view to a venerable French marketing firm. Cultures clash as she adjusts to the challenges of life in Paris while juggling her career, new friendships, and active love life.

Grey's Anatomy season 19.

Grey's Anatomy will be returning for its 19th season this month in America which means it will be coming soon here in the UK too. I can't wait. I only started watching a couple of years ago and have rewatched it since. It is brilliant! I have laughed and cried along with it. I've gone from hating some characters then loving them as their story progressed.

Grey's Anatomy is medical based drama centred around Meredith Grey, an aspiring surgeon and daughter of one of the best surgeons, Dr. Ellis Grey. Throughout the series, Meredith goes through professional and personal challenges along with fellow surgeons at Seattle Grace Hospital.

Hocus Pocus 2.
Hocus Pocus 2 is available now to watch now on Disney Plus. I have been looking forward to watching this so much and as I was writing this blog post last week I probably have already seen it. hehehe

In 2022, twenty-nine years after the events of the first film, three high-school students must work together to stop the Sanderson sisters who have returned to present-day Salem looking for revenge.

What are you looking forward to watching on TV over the next few months?

  1. We watched Hocus Pocus 2 yesterday and loved it! I've taken a bit of a break from The Walking Dead as I was getting a bit bored but seeing as I've watched most of the seasons, I'm going to finish watching the rest now I know there's a final season.
Absolutely LOVE Grey's Anatomy. We started watching it when it first aired season one and haven't missed an episode since!

  3. Ha ha. I haven't watched any of the ones you mentioned. Well apart from Bake off and Strictly. We are not much TV fans and I actually prefer watching a one of show than a series! I know, we are weird, lol. On Netflix I am looking forward to another series of The Circle, Selling Sunset and Cheer!

  5. I gave up on The Walking Dead after the 4th Series, I found it way too depressing, I got fed up of waiting for something good to happen for once. I've never watched any of the others, I'd love to watch Hocus Pocus 2 but I don't have Disney Plus. I've just started watching The Sandman, which is a bit weird and dark. x

  6. Oh I love all of these. I'm currently re-watching The Crown ready for the new series. I've still got
a few series left to watch of The Walking Dead and Grey's Anatomy too so I will one day. I meant to comment on your last post that I love OITNB! I started watching it as soon as it came out. I nearly went to a blog event actually too but couldn't make it in the end- it would have been amazing! Anyway, during lockdown I re-watched it and completed- I was so sad when it ended xxx
